The 60s J-45 Original in Olive Drab: the same iconic slope-shoulder, but in a color you won't find anywhere else

For more than eighty years, the Gibson J-45 has been the benchmark for singer-songwriters and chord players worldwide. The 60s Original returns to the specifications that defined the J-45 in that decade: a slightly rounder neck profile than the current Standard, a compound dovetail neck joint with hot hide glue, and the familiar combination of Sitka Spruce on solid mahogany. The Olive Drab finish is one of the most striking color choices Gibson has released for this model, matte and understated but full of character.

The Sitka Spruce top on solid mahogany back and sides delivers the characteristic J-45 sound: warm, full, and direct, with a dynamic range that convincingly renders everything from subtle fingerpicking to powerful strumming. The scalloped X-brace allows the top to resonate optimally. This version comes without a built-in pickup, which leaves the acoustic properties undisturbed and makes the instrument ideally suited for players who want to play purely acoustically or prefer their own microphone or external pickup.

The mahogany neck has a Round profile with a rosewood fretboard, dot inlays, and 20 frets over a 24.75-inch scale. Grover Strap Cream Button tuners and the compound dovetail joint with hot hide glue complete a guitar that honors the J-45 tradition without following the usual color paths. Delivered with a hardshell case.
