The Gibson J-45 is the best-selling acoustic Gibson model of all time, and the J-45 Custom elevates that reliable J-45 formula with aesthetics directly inspired by the Les Paul Custom. The Sitka Spruce top on mahogany back and sides delivers the characteristic J-45 sound: warm, direct, and full, with the midrange that has made the model the guitar of choice for singer-songwriters and session musicians for decades. The Custom version adds a layer that is visually and tactilely in a class of its own.

The ebony fretboard with Mother-of-Pearl Custom Block inlays, the multi-ply binding on the top and back, the bound Les Paul-style headstock with split diamond inlay, and the gold Grover Rotomatic tuners with kidney buttons give this instrument a stateliness that the standard J-45 does not possess. The LR Baggs Session VTC pickup ensures that the warm J-45 tone remains intact on stage, with volume and tone controls integrated into the soundhole.

The mahogany neck features a SlimTaper profile with an ebony fretboard, 20 frets, and a 12-inch radius over a 24.75-inch scale length. The nut and saddle are made of bone, as are the Traditional Belly Up bridge and bridge pins.
