The Ibanez A527 gives seven strings their own scale length for low-end riffs and fluid melodies
The Ibanez A527-NSH combines the range of seven strings with a multiscale design: the low strings have a longer scale length than the high ones. This gives you a guitar that accounts for the different tasks of your strings, from solid riffs on the low B to melodies higher up the neck. The American basswood body forms the foundation, while the five-piece maple/walnut neck and ebony fretboard give this Ibanez a distinctly modern setup. Anyone looking to step up from a six-string guitar will find plenty of room here to discover new chords and riffs.
Two active Fishman Fluence Modern humbuckers provide the sound. The Alnico 8 version at the neck and the Ceramic 8 version at the bridge offer different tonal colors for rhythm work and lead parts. For rock and metal, that is an interesting combination: you can work on articulate picking, full melodies, and the extra low range of the seventh string. The multiscale length runs from 691 mm to 648 mm, or 27.2 to 25.5 inches. This helps provide more tension to the low strings without making all strings follow the same long scale length.
The Parallel Wizard AS-7 neck is 48 mm wide at the nut and 66 mm at the 24th fret, with a thickness of 21 mm at both the first and twelfth frets. The ebony fretboard has a 430 mm radius, Mother of Pearl Step off-set dot inlays, and 24 jumbo stainless steel frets. The Mono-rail G2 bridge has an 10.8 mm string spacing and matches the black hardware. From the factory, the guitar is set up in standard seven-string tuning, from high E to low B, with D’Addario EXL120 plus a .059 string. The full gauge is .009/.011/.016/.024/.032/.042/.059.
More range doesn't have to mean reinventing your playing style. Pick up this Ibanez A527 and discover what a low B and a multiscale neck can add to your music.
