The Dingwall Combustion gives your low B the same definition as the rest of your playing

A five-string bass needs to deliver at the bottom end too. The Dingwall Combustion in Gloss Vintage White combines a multiscale design with a swamp ash body and a bolted-on, five-piece maple neck. The 34 to 37-inch scale length gives the low strings more length, while the higher strings retain a familiar feel. This makes this electric bass guitar appealing to bassists who want a solid low B without melodic passages or chords feeling unnecessarily heavy. The glossy Vintage White finish and matte black hardware also give it a clean, distinctive look.

The Dingwall FD3n pickups with neodymium magnets, combined with the EMG B30EQ preamp, provide a versatile foundation. Expect a direct character with clear articulation, where your attack comes through well. The four-way Quad-Tone pickup selector lets you switch between different pickup combinations, from a full-bodied sound for foundational basslines to a more focused tone for rhythmic work. The active three-band EQ then lets you adjust the lows, mids, and highs to your amplifier and the mix. This control is particularly useful for heavy rock parts, detailed grooves, and playing in the lower register.

The rosewood fretboard has a 9.45-inch radius and features 20 Medium Jumbo frets with dot inlays. The Medium Thin C neck profile supports smooth position changes, while the bolt-on construction provides a familiar, practical foundation. Hipshot tuners, a Dingwall bridge, and a Graphtech Black Tusq nut complete the hardware. The controls consist of a master volume, the Quad-Tone selector, and the active three-band EQ. The natural headstock contrasts beautifully with the body, and the included Dingwall Padded Gigbag makes transporting it to rehearsals and gigs easy.

Are you looking for a Dingwall five-string bass that stays clear when you go deep, but also offers room for nuance? This Combustion deserves a place on your shortlist.
