This new 5150 combo was designed with an ambitious goal: to give every guitarist access to those famous Eddie sounds at an affordable price. And if that wasn't ambitious enough, they've gone much further than that! Rarely have we seen an amp combo that is so complete. Let's start with the sounds, because there are quite a few! The classic Eddie Van Halen crunch is abundant on the overdrive channel. Your percussion parts and chords have tons of power and definition in the highs and mids. Step into the clean channel and you'll be instantly delighted by a beautiful, balanced clean sound. Nice detail: both channels have their own volume and gain controls, so you never mess with your balance. In addition, you have a nice master-presence control to contain the high, if desired, extra. Now the 2 channels are great in themselves, but they didn't stop there; both channels have an extra voicing with more gain and compression. This way you give your clean sounds a mild, bluesy overdrive, while the overdrive channel gets extra fat for solos. All this is beautifully reproduced by the Celestion 12" EVH speaker.
