The Special Semi-Hollow in River Blue Pearl: three pickups, dozens of sounds, and a finish that always looks different

River Blue Pearl is a finish that plays with light: sometimes sky blue, then subtle and pearlescent, always vibrant. On the figured maple top of the PRS Special Semi-Hollow, this color immediately makes it clear that this is no ordinary instrument. The semi-hollow construction, the three-pickup configuration, and the extensive switching system make the Special Semi-Hollow one of the most versatile guitars PRS has ever built.

The two McCarty III humbuckers and the PRS Narrowfield in the middle form a complementary combination that covers virtually every tonal area. The McCarty III's are warm and detailed, while the Narrowfield provides a clear, single coil-like character without hum. Via the 5-way blade switch and two coil-tap mini-toggles, you have dozens of sound options at your disposal: from crystal-clear clean to full jazz tone, from Strat-sparkle to thick humbucker drive. The semi-hollow construction adds airiness and natural resonance, giving the tone extra depth.

The mahogany body with figured maple top and set neck in a Pattern Regular profile is comfortable for wide hands and long sessions. The rosewood fretboard with 22 frets, 10" radius, and 25" scale plays smoothly across the entire range. The PRS Patented Tremolo is smooth and stable, and the Phase III Locking Tuners keep the tuning in order even with extensive tremolo use.

The PRS Special Semi-Hollow River Blue Pearl comes with a hardshell case. Three pickups, endless possibilities, one instrument that offers them all.
