The Gibson Custom '63 SG Custom 2PU Silver Fox Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged is a Dijkmans Exclusive: specially assembled in close collaboration with Tom Fowle of the Murphy Lab. The Silver Fox finish is an exclusive color not found in the regular Gibson line, and it gives the classic lines of the SG Custom a subtle, timeless elegance. The Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged treatment adds the most subtle form of patina: light checking in the nitro lacquer, a touch of patina on the gold hardware, and a playability that immediately feels familiar.
The SG Custom is the most luxurious model in the SG series: an ebony fingerboard, block inlays, gold hardware, and multiple layers of binding give the guitar a formal appearance that contrasts with the raw, aggressive tone of the SG. The mahogany body and neck provide a warm, resonant foundation with rich mid-tones and excellent sustain. The two Custombucker humbuckers deliver a wide palette of sounds: from warm, round cleans to raw, biting overdrive, perfect for blues, rock, and everything in between.
