The square-shoulder silhouette that shaped acoustic guitar history
Few guitars are as instantly recognizable as the Gibson Hummingbird. Since its introduction in 1960, this square-shoulder dreadnought model has found a permanent home in the hands of legendary artists. The deep, layered Dark Burst finish accentuates the character of the wood, giving the guitar an appearance as impressive as the sound it produces.
The Hummingbird sounds bigger than it looks. The solid Sitka spruce top combined with solid mahogany back and sides delivers a tone that is warm and full, with a clear attack and excellent sustain. The scalloped X-bracing gives the top maximum freedom to resonate, resulting in a dynamic sound that handles delicate fingerpicking and powerful strumming with equal conviction. The built-in LR Baggs VTC pickup ensures that this character remains fully intact when amplified.
The mahogany neck features a Round-Taper profile with a rosewood fretboard, 16-inch radius, and 20 frets. The distinctive parallelogram inlays and the detailed Hummingbird engraving on the pickguard make this model a visual statement. Grover Rotomatic 18:1 tuners provide stable tuning. Delivered with a Gibson hardshell case.
A guitar that will last for generations.
