The Epiphone Les Paul Standard 60s Quilt in Washed Cherry Sunburst: Les Paul Tone and Looks for the Beginner or Discerning Player
The Epiphone Les Paul Standard 60s Quilt in Washed Cherry Sunburst is the guitar for those who want to experience the classic Les Paul heritage without the accompanying price tag. The quilt maple top in Washed Cherry Sunburst is the first thing that stands out: a finish that would not look out of place on guitars twice the price. But it goes beyond looks. Epiphone has built an instrument here that takes the '60s Les Paul specifications as its starting point and translates them into a guitar that is immediately ready to play and feels just right.
The sound is warm, full, and unmistakably Les Paul. The ProBucker humbuckers deliver a tone with enough output for rock and blues, but also sufficient dynamics to play clean without losing character. The mahogany body with a quilt maple top provides the classic combination of warmth in the low mids and clarity in the attack. The '60s SlimTaper neck makes fast playing easy and is comfortable for longer playing sessions, even for hands still getting used to an electric guitar.
The body is mahogany with a quilt maple top in a Washed Cherry Sunburst finish. The neck is mahogany with the '60s SlimTaper D-profile and an Indian laurel fretboard with trapezoid inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets. The scale length is 628 mm. The ProBucker-2 (neck) and ProBucker-3 (bridge) humbuckers are controlled via two volume and two tone knobs with a toggle switch. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece ensure stable tuning and good sustain.
The Epiphone Les Paul Standard 60s Quilt proves that a good guitar doesn't necessarily have to be expensive.
