Paul's Guitar in Charcoal: the most personal PRS ever built, in a finish that hides nothing
Paul's Guitar is not just any PRS model. It's the instrument Paul Reed Smith would build for himself: every choice is personal, every spec is deliberate. The inspiration was a Les Paul Junior with a wraparound bridge, and that fact dictates everything about this instrument. The mahogany body with carved figured maple top in Charcoal is a combination whose elegance doesn't shout at you. The finish allows the wood to breathe via the C.A.B. method (nitro over cellulose), which benefits both resonance and durability.
The two TCI-tuned humbuckers are at the heart of Paul's Guitar. Using the two coil split mini-toggle switches, you can switch both pickups individually from humbucker to single coil, and the result is extraordinary: the full humbucker tone sounds more like a P90, the single coil setting almost like a Fender single coil. Thanks to the TCI treatment, there is virtually no signal or tone loss when splitting. The PRS Stoptail with brass inserts is the bridge that gives this guitar its unique character: more direct, more resonant, and more organic than a T.O.M. construction.
The Pattern neck profile, 22 frets, 10" radius, and 25" scale length are familiar PRS quality. The Honduran Rosewood fretboard with Brushstroke Bird Inlays and the Phase III Locking Tuners complete an instrument that bears the signature of its maker in every detail. Volume and tone knob, 3-way toggle, and two coil split mini-toggles: simple controls, maximum flexibility.
The PRS Paul's Guitar Charcoal comes with a hardshell case. The most personal guitar Paul Reed Smith ever built, for the guitarist who appreciates it.
