The Lakewood A-52 Premium: Myrtlewood and Master Grade Spruce in an Auditorium that Will Surprise You

Myrtlewood is one of the rarest tonewoods you'll find in a handcrafted guitar, and Lakewood knows how to use it. The A-52 Premium combines an AAAA-grade Sitka Spruce top with Myrtlewood back and sides — a combination you won't find with major brands. The compact Auditorium body, elegant binding, and rosette make it clear that this is an instrument meticulously thought out down to the smallest details. Includes Hiscox hardshell case.

Myrtlewood has a character that lies somewhere between rosewood and mahogany: warm lows, bright trebles, and striking depth and dimension in the midrange. The AAAA Sitka Spruce top on a Scalloped X-Brace responds directly and dynamically, giving every note a clear, articulated attack. Together, they create a sound that seems bigger than the compact body suggests.

The Cedro neck with a C-shape profile and Ebony fretboard plays smoothly across 20 frets and a 25.6-inch scale length. The Gotoh SGL-510Z gold tuners with a 21:1 ratio ensure extremely accurate tuning. The set-neck construction and Ebony bridge contribute to excellent sustain and intonation. No pickup on board — this guitar is built to shine acoustically.

The Lakewood A-52 Premium is a guitar for the enthusiast who looks beyond the usual wood types.
