The Gibson Gold Top that has been proving for 70 years that classic never gets boring
The Gold Top is the Les Paul in its most original form. No figured maple, no transparent burst, just that unmistakable gold on mahogany with a maple top. The Gibson Les Paul Standard '50s Gold Top brings this timeless design back in the most authentic version Gibson offers today, with the specs and feel of an original 50s instrument.
Two Burstbucker pickups with AlNiCo II magnets give this guitar the P.A.F. sound that guitarists have been striving for for decades: warm and open in the neck, just enough sharpness at the bridge, and always responsive to the dynamics of your playing. These are the pickups that defined the sound of rock before anyone had a name for it.
The mahogany body with maple top is the classic recipe for sustain and tonal balance. The Slim Taper mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard and Acrylic Trapezoid inlays offers comfortable playability across all 22 frets on a 24.75" scale length. The ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and Grover Kidney tuners are period-correct and deliver reliable intonation. Includes Gibson hardcase.
The Les Paul Standard '50s Gold Top is the instrument for those who know what they want: the tone of the legendary originals, without compromise.
