The Epiphone 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue Washed Bourbon Burst that reproduces the most sought-after Les Paul configuration ever in a Bourbon finish that puts the wood at center stage
The year 1959 is considered the absolute pinnacle of the Les Paul Standard. The figured maple tops of that year, the Vintage '59 C-neck that found the perfect balance between slim and substantial, and the Gibson Custombuckers that represent the PAF sound at its best: that's the combination that made the '59 Burst the most expensive guitar model in the world. In the Inspired by Gibson Custom line, Epiphone builds a reissue that reproduces these specifications as accurately as possible. In Washed Bourbon Burst, the figured maple top shows its grain without a dark burst obscuring the nature of the wood.
The Gibson USA Custombuckers are the pickups that Gibson reserves for its historic reissues and Custom Shop instruments. They deliver the open, dynamic sound of the original PAF pickups: warm and layered in the neck, slightly more present in the bridge, and always with the dynamic response that gives a guitarist room to vary their attack. CTS potentiometers and an Orange Drop capacitor ensure an honest vintage signal path.
Mahogany body with figured maple top in Washed Bourbon Burst, mahogany neck with Vintage '59 C-profile, rosewood fretboard with aged MOP Trapezoid inlays and 22 frets on 24.75" scale length, Grover Rotomatic 18:1 tuners, LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and aged hardware. Includes hardshell case.
The 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue Washed Bourbon Burst is for the guitarist who knows what '59 means.
