The ESP E-II Eclipse DB Granite Sparkle: Japanese Craftsmanship in a Dazzling Finish

The ESP E-II series represents the absolute top level of what ESP produces outside of the Custom Shop. All E-II instruments are manufactured in ESP's own factory in Tokyo, Japan, by the same craftsmen who also build the Custom Shop guitars. The Eclipse DB in Granite Sparkle finish is a brilliant example of this: a singlecut that, with its prominent white binding and sparkling finish, looks like an instrument from a much higher price range.

Tonally, the E-II Eclipse DB is a versatile powerhouse. The EMG 66TW (neck) and EMG 57TW (bridge) active pickups offer coil splitting on both pickups via push-pull controls — from a warm, full humbucker sound to a bright, articulate single coil tone. The mahogany body with a maple cap and set-neck construction delivers rich sustain and a warm fundamental tone characteristic of the Eclipse model.

The mahogany neck features a fast Thin U-profile and an ebony fretboard with 22 extra jumbo frets and a bone nut for optimal tonal quality. Gotoh locking tuners and a Gotoh TOM bridge ensure excellent tuning stability and direct string transfer. ESP straplocks and a hardshell case are included — gig-ready out of the box.
