The Goldtop that looks like it's been played for the last seventy years

The Gibson Custom Murphy Lab 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Darkback Light Aged is not a guitar you buy to display in a cabinet. This is an instrument built to be played, with every detail tuned to the originals from Gibson's golden era. The dark back, the lightly aged nitrocellulose lacquer, and the aged nickel hardware give this Goldtop a character you simply won't find in a new guitar.

The sound of the 1957 Les Paul is legendary, and that starts with its construction. The mahogany body with a plain maple top and hide glue construction provides that warm, full resonance so characteristic of late fifties Les Pauls. The two Custombucker Alnico 3 humbuckers, unpotted and tuned to the original PAF specifications, deliver a dynamic, open sound with a rich midrange and a natural breakup that responds to every nuance of your playing. The 50s Rounded Medium C neck feels familiar to those accustomed to vintage Gibson necks.

The Murphy Lab Light Aged treatment was performed by the craftsmen at Gibson's Custom Shop and simulates decades of natural wear. The nitrocellulose lacquer has the right amount of checking and patina, the nickel hardware is subtly aged, and the Kluson Single Line tuners feel as if they've been played for years. Further specs: Indian Rosewood fretboard, 22 Historic Medium-Jumbo frets, ABR-1 bridge, lightweight aluminum stop bar, and CTS 500K potentiometers with paper-in-oil capacitors. Comes in a Brown/Pink Lifton Reissue 5-latch case with Certificate of Authenticity.

For the guitarist who knows what they're looking for and won't settle for anything less than the original.
