The Bourgeois Touchstone Standard LDBO-14: torrefied Sitka spruce in a compact size that sounds big
The Bourgeois Touchstone The Standard LDBO-14 is the entry-level model in Bourgeois' Touchstone line, but don't be fooled by the word 'entry-level'. This is a handcrafted guitar from Lewiston, Maine, featuring a torrefied Sitka spruce top that responds with an openness and warmth rarely expected from a new guitar. The LDBO-14 format is compact and comfortable to play, but the tone is anything but small.
The torrefied Sitka spruce top with scalloped X-bracing gives the guitar an immediacy and dynamic range that is immediately striking. The solid mahogany back and sides add warmth and a rich midrange, while the bass remains balanced and focused. The sunburst finish gives the instrument a vintage character that matches the Touchstone name.
The mahogany neck with ziricote fingerboard, Waverly nickel tuning machines with oval ivoroid buttons, and mother-of-pearl dot inlays complete an instrument that is perfect in every detail. 20 frets on a 25-inch scale length. No pickup. Delivered with a hardshell case.
The Touchstone Standard is the guitar that proves craftsmanship doesn't have to cost a fortune.
