The Dingwall D-Roc in Celestial Blue gives its rock character an understated look
Not every rock bass needs to shine to stand out. The Dingwall D-Roc 4-string Ducati Matte Celestial Blue combines its distinct body shape with a matte blue finish, while the multiscale construction tells the technical side of the story. This four-string bass is aimed at players who want to clearly define their low register and enjoy having different tonal colors at their fingertips. The combination of a khaya body, a five-piece maple neck, and a pau ferro fretboard gives this version its own recognizable foundation.
Three FD-3N pickups and a four-position Quad-Tone pickup selector allow you to work with different pickup combinations. This lets you tailor the sound to a driving bassline, an emphatic rock riff, or a part where your attack needs to make the difference. The passive tone control helps to round off the highs when the music calls for it. The scale length runs from 34 to 36.25 inches, with more length for the low strings. That multiscale principle is intended to balance the string response across the range and gives the D-Roc its characteristic fanned-fret playing feel.
The five-piece maple neck features the D-Roc profile. The pau ferro fretboard is equipped with a 9.45-inch radius, pearloid dot inlays, and 20 banjo-sized frets. On the hardware side, you will find open-gear tuners and a Dingwall Minimalist one-piece bridge. The controls remain straightforward with volume, the Quad-Tone selector, and a passive tone knob, without an elaborate active equalizer between you and your amplifier. This unit weighs 4.33 kg and comes with a softcase, so transport to rehearsals or gigs is practically arranged.
Don't let that matte finish fool you into thinking it's reserved. Try this Celestial Blue D-Roc with your favorite riff and discover which pickup position makes your part speak the best.
