A fresh look at the most famous amplifier ever: the Fender Deluxe Reverb
Every guitarist knows that Fender amplifiers are unparalleled for clean and crunchy work. For the guitarist who is looking for a vintage Fender tube sound, but with the reliability of a new amplifier, Fender offers the Fender '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb. In 1968, Fender decided to switch to a new look, which became known as the silverface. This name is due to the silver-colored front panel and speaker cloth. The sound, however, remained the same, meaning the Deluxe Reverb remained undiminished in popularity. The amplifier is relatively small and light, but still produces a grand tube sound. In addition, the built-in reverb and vibrato effects are of absolute world-class. 22 watts through a single 12-inch Celestion may seem modest, but don't let that fool you. Because, this '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb can simply be incredibly loud. The 12AX7 and 12AT7 tubes in the preamp produce a familiar tube-based sound. Thanks to the 6V6 tubes in the power amp, the sound remains relatively clean and the Deluxe Reverb works very well with effect pedals. To make optimal use of the built-in effects, both at home and live, a 2-button footswitch is included. A protective cover is also included, so that the Fender '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb can travel safely.
