The Rounded C-neck that brings back the magic of the original 1958 dot neck ES-335
The Gibson ES-335 50s is not a nostalgia project, but a meticulous reconstruction of what made the ES-335 so special when it was introduced in 1958. For the guitarist who knows what they're looking for: an instrument with character, depth, and a neck that naturally embraces your hand. The Vintage Tobacco Burst nitrocellulose finish gives the instrument a timeless look.
The Custombucker pickups with Alnico 3 magnets reproduce the tone of the very first PAF humbuckers from the late 1950s: warm, dynamic, and full of harmonic richness. Via the hand-wired 500k potentiometers and three-way switch, you have a wide tonal palette at your disposal, from soft jazz chords to cutting blues lines. The sound hovers between the openness of an archtop and the directness of a solidbody.
The semi-hollow body is made of three-ply maple/poplar/maple with a solid maple center block. The mahogany neck has a distinctive Rounded C-profile that directly refers to the original dot neck models. The bound rosewood fretboard has 22 medium jumbo frets with classic dot inlays. Vintage Deluxe tuners with keystone buttons, ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, and aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece complete the instrument. Delivered with a Gibson hardshell case.
For the player who refuses to compromise on feel, tone, or heritage.
