Nathaniel Rateliff is known for his soulful blend of folk, soul, Americana, and R&B, and his signature guitar perfectly reflects that character. The Gibson Nathaniel Rateliff LG-2 is based on his own vintage Gibson LG-2, complemented by elements of the classic Country Western. This pre-owned example is in excellent condition with light signs of use, fitting for an instrument that has actually been played. The result is a compact, mahogany-driven acoustic guitar with authentic vintage DNA and the refinement of a modern Gibson Custom Shop instrument.

The Adirondack red spruce top is one of the most prized tonewoods in acoustic guitar building: stiff, light, and with a distinct dynamic range that only improves as the guitar ages. The mahogany body, neck, and back provide a warm, direct tone with a characteristic mid-focus that is excellent for fingerpicking and singer-songwriter playing. The Historic V-neck shape and 24.75" scale length feel familiar to those accustomed to classic Gibson proportions. The rosewood fretboard with pearloid parallelogram inlays and the mother-of-pearl block logo on the headstock are direct references to Nathaniel's own instrument. The nickel Gotoh Keystone tuners and black bridge pins complete the vintage look.

An LR Baggs VTC system is built-in, with volume and tone controls discreetly mounted on the underside of the soundhole, exactly as Nathaniel prefers it.
