Gretsch G6229TG Limited Edition Players Edition Sparkle Jet BT
The Gretsch Jet has been a staple on stage and in the studio for over 65 years. From raw rock 'n' roll to refined cleans, this model holds an undeniable place in music history. The G6229TG Limited Edition Players Edition Sparkle Jet BT is a modern interpretation of that heritage, featuring Bigsby, gold-tone hardware, and available in Champagne Sparkle or Ocean Turquoise Sparkle with a black pickguard.
The foundation of this Jet is a select mahogany body with a maple top. The chambered design produces an open, resonant tone with a smooth attack and a wide frequency range. The midrange remains firm and focused, while the guitar feels acoustically rich and vibrant—exactly what you expect from a high-end Gretsch.
The Broad'Tron™ BT65 pickups, designed by Tim Shaw, are the beating heart of this Sparkle Jet. They deliver a powerful midrange, rich lows, and a clear but never harsh high end. Whether you're looking for tight cleans, sparkling chords, or controlled overdrive, these pickups respond instantly and remain musical.
As you'd expect from a Players Edition model, the playing comfort has been meticulously considered. The lowered neck set improves accessibility and feels natural in both hands. The rounded cutaway and tapered heel provide unimpeded access to the higher frets without compromising the vintage look. Everything is designed for playing, not for standing out – although this Jet does that naturally.
The electronics are designed for maximum flexibility: a no-load master tone with a Squeezebox™ capacitor, master volume with treble bleed, and individual volume controls for each pickup. This allows you to maintain clarity at any volume setting and fine-tune your sound, both live and in the studio.
